I am an owner of a flat in L&T South City apartment complex. On Friday, June 9th groups that appeared to be from L&T, and BBMP came with massive police force in a peaceful apartment complex and broke down our compound wall and gates without our permission. They have forcibly acquired 12 acres of our 34 acre apartment complex and made it public. Our sale deed as per my purchase in 2005 clearly states 34 acres of L&T South City Apartment land including a park. The demolition of June 9th has rendered 12 acres of that land public without any consent from us or without any show of any orders from any authority. Please note that besides this forcible acquisition of our land we also felt very threatened by the whole act. From June 9th onwards for the next couple of days more than 2 police buses were deployed in our apartment complex. Use of such police force in a peaceful residential apartment complex with more than 500 young children could have been detrimental to our safety since it appeared that the police was deployed against us. We need our land and park back. BBMP needs to justify why the land acquisition and why deployment of such police force against residents who do not carry any weapons or have not done anything illegal.
