Thanks for the environment friendly efforts taken by BMC as at present vegetable vendors are asked not to give plastics for vegetables. Excellent idea to curb the plastic menance which is spreading and adversely afffecting the environment. The area outside vidyavihar station and Jogeshwari are completely strewn for 1km of complete plastice lying around without disposal.
To bring to the notice of BMC the supply of cheap toys, umbrellas which are purchased by commuters and in one use it gets broken and there is no replacement. this builds up a lot of plastic than the carry bags. There are thousands of such cheap quality umbrellas which the seller does not take back as he says that it cannot be disposed off as nobody takes. These umbrellas and toys are the dumping grounds for cheap foriegn goods in our country. The excess manufacture of these goods are dumped in India and India is treated as a garbage ground. Only the municipal corporations can help by levying a heavy tax on these cheap goods so that they are not purchased and brought inside our country.
I had brought a pink colour umbrella from the first shop (which also sells vada pav) in subway towards the Eros side which has thousand such umbrellas and in the first go the umbrella broke and he is not ready to exchange it saying that these umbrella are now not taken back by company even though I said that i do not want any exchange. BMC kindly look into the matter.
