1. We purchased a soft wood imported dismantable 3 1 1 seater sofa set in October from a furniture shop in velachery. The cost of the sofa set was Rs.14000. The shop provided a bill which is duly held.
2. In August after 9 months the 3 seater sofa developed a crack and I noticed that the major part has a finely covered joint which made it weak to carry the regular load.
3. I approached the shop about the problem. After persistent requests, calls and personal visits his representative landed up and took two parts for repair.
a) Front Runner, damaged and to be repaired accordingly.
b) Back Rest, without any damage and to be repaired for any preventive damage in future.
c) The articles were taken on 23rd August with verbal promise to return it on 9th September.
4. There was no action from the shop for 1 month. I approached the shop for providing necessary repair atleast 20 times.
5. At last I approached them to give me a reciept for the above mentioned two items which is now held with them for repair. The receipt has been duly given by them giving details of articles, date of return as promised and no charges for services.
6. I want to approach consumer court for providing faulty furniture, delay in services and harrasment.
Kindly guide on how to proceed with.
