BSNL
Unethical way of charging and deducting from mobile balance. Unscrupulous advertisements

Sir,

An advertisement was aired on my mobile on December 29 at about 15:33:01 about Mobile Radio and I was played a list of songs. I was asked to press a certain button to listen to a particular song. I responded as I was directed above, to which I was again asked to press a certain button to confirm the subscription to Mobile Radio. It was at this point that I realized that I was unscrupulously being subscribed to Mobile Radio, so, I instantly disconnected the line. Shortly, I was sent an SMS to thank me for subscribing to Mobile Radio and was charged Rs 25 for 30 days. I was also provided with a the no.1255533 to start using the service or to call 1255530 to deactivate the service. I called on 1255530 to deactivate but there was no such option mentioned to deactivate the Mobile Radio service, besides, they played a list of songs to select. I even tried to contact the customer service many times and many days but couldn't get thorough.

One thing that I never understand is Why was I charged for subscription to Mobile Radio although I did not confirm to it as I was asked to confirm the subscription.

After many days on Jannuary 24 at 12:00:38 I received an SMS that I have been charged Rs 5 for 5 days (I had stated keeping less than Rs10 balance in my mobile because I knew they would charge me again to renew the subscription) for Mobile Radio service which I neither activated nor used.

On Jannuary 26, I received another SMS which read that my subscription would be renewed on 29-01 and to unsubscribe call 12555533 (please note that prior to this I was given the no.1255530 mentioned above to deactivate the service). I called on 1255533 this time and surprisingly this time they provided me with the option to deactivate the service in the beginning, the option which was not at all available previously. So, this time I could unscribe tho the Mobile Radio which I never used paid unnecessarily.

I term all this act of BSNL as "unethicall". I wanted a platform to voice my grievances after moving from pillar to post. I want to lodge a complaint against BSNL and want an explanation to it.

Kindly, look into the matter.

Thanking you,

Vijay Kumar
