Fraud Cell
I got a missed call on my vodafone cell number from 0025240900331.
When i called back a guy who identified himself as Sahil picked the call and said that my number has been selected in Vodafone lucky draw and they would send me a mobile if i gave them my name & address.
Seemed suspicious since Vodafone should have the customer details with them. Guy told me to select some mobile models, why would anyone be allowed to select mobile if it is won on lucky draw. On asking said that delivery would be done by Vodafone's own courier team- why should Vodafone have courier team, it will use external courier like Bluedart or some other courier company.
Later call vodafone care at 111 and they told it is fraud and country would be Somalia. I might have spent more than 20 minutes to call this ISD call - i was lucky to maybe get away with Rs. 1000 ISD call bill but defintely many people might get cheated.
I would want Vodafone to take legal and strict action against such callers so that people are not cheated.
