I was issued hdfc bank credit card and the no is 4346781002810182. The total credit limit for the card was Rs 31, 000. Now they have added additional interest and late fee charges and now they are telling me the total outstanding amount nearly 80k. Due to my financial crisis I am unable to pay my outstanding amount. I have started getting threatening calls from a collection agent named, Mr. Prasad who quoted himself to be HDFC employee. The collection agent is harassing, threatening and abusing me and continuously disturbing me by making "N" no of call on my mobile and making my life miserable. He not only made calls to me but also to Manager in the company and started disclosing my financial information to other and created an embarrassing environment for me, they are disturbing my professional life by calling my manager on his mobile no, due to which my job is in risk. So I have opted for settlement (my total expenses incurred in this card is Rs 31, 000). The settlement amount they are asking me 40, 000/- in one shot and 45, 000 in 3 equal installments, Which I cannot pay, due to my financial crisis.. The collection agent is using all the possible profanity and not even listening to me what I want to say. This is been a big mental harassment and pressure like someone is threatening to pay else your image in professional & social community will be ruined.
I am requesting continuously to reduce the settlement amount and allow me to pay in installments for which I am ready.
I believe every bank is regulated by Indian government and has legal process to deal with any dispute with the customer.
