HORRIBLE SERVICE AT AIRTEL

I intend this to be the nastiest comment I have ever written because I have received the nastiest service ever. Thank God I am a privileged Vodafone Customer. I bought a pre-paid Airtel simcard for my very close friend who is an American national. After 7 days the phone stopped working. We kept wondering why and kept making calls to the local Dealer and Airtel Customer Service to look into the matter. I had forwarded my passport copy and pan card copy and photograph as supporting documents for the simcard. I was really beginning to get worried about it. Finally on January 28 I walked into an Airtel Store at Flora Fountain, Mumbai to find an unfriendly Representative Mr. Zaheer Abbas who told me that my number reflects in someone else's name and he cannot do anything about it. I explained the situation to him patiently told him I am a troubled customer but he continued being unconcerned, arrogant, indifferent and rude about my inconvenience. He kept telling me to go to the Dealer. Obviously I had first tried to get the problem solved through the Dealer and only after no result had I decided to take the matter further but he obviously dint understand that. He kept telling me that their verification system is very strict and such a mistake is just NOT possible... well at the end of the day it was the Dealer who upon several requests decided to look into the matter only to realize that there was a mistake at Airtel's end in entering the information and therefore my simcard was barred.

Well in either case, it is Airtel's dealer, Airtel's Distributor and Airtel Customer Service that must take responsibility for their goof-ups. I understand they are wide spread but I strongly suggest that if you cannot take care of your customers, do not run a service for them.

I can understand a mistake but I cannot understand horrible, arrogant and indifferent service.

Truly a pathetic experience,
