I have a BSNL land line connection with number (040) 27111848 falling under Sainikpuri Exchange, Trimulgiri Area Office, Hyderabad Telecom Dist. I have received the monthly bill no. 252764925 dt. 06-12 for the billing period 01-11 to 30-11. Ongoing thro the bill I find that there is are new items added and billed as One Time Charges of Rs. 278.14 applicable service tax. The itemized description is reading as "Hungama Music on Demand" & "Hungama Movies on Demand" on 01-11 billed at Rs. 139.07 per item totally amounting to Rs. 278.14 Service Tax @ 12.36% = Rs. 312.51.

But to my utter shock and surprise, I have not asked or demanded the service "Hungama Music on Demand" and "Hungama Movies on Demand” from BSNL but BSNL billed and debited the charges to my account. I strongly protest this action of BSNL in billing and charging for a service that is not requested or demanded by me and insist that the charges thus billed may be reversed and credited to my account.

On my complaint to BSNL they got back to me with a reply that they have contacted my son Akshaya Kumar who authorised the transaction. My son denies having made any such transaction. My son Akshaya Kumar never asked for, never requisitioned any service from Hungama.Com and is not aware of any such service provider or the type of service provided by them. And we never used the service atleast once which proves that we were not even aware of the service or facility existing.

My son Akshaya Kumar says that while he was at home (he is a student) he used to receive certain incoming calls from BSNL from time to time enquiring about the functioning of the telephone or the broadband service. And he also states that the personnel who called sometimes also asked for his name and also telephone no. as a practice of verification. I have also received such calls from time to time and replied to such callers as also my wife and my other son, also a student.

I am S. Anoop Kumar, the head of the house, the owner of the house and also the owner of the landline telephone provided by BSNL with the number (040) 27111848 since it's very inception and that is for over 20 years now and all the transactions are dealt by me personally and all the bills are paid by me. All the decisions as to bill plans or any changes thereon are taken by me and authorised by me, most times in writing. I have not authorised any such transaction neither I was aware of the transaction till such time I have received the bill with the charges debited to my account.

I feel BSNL is resorting to cheating of it’s customers by billing for products which they have not asked for in order to improve their billing. I strongly protest the actions of BSNL and demand that the excess charges of Rs. 312.51 thus billed be reversed immediately and credited to my account.
