Customer care executive misleading

My airtel broadband (45088209) bill was around 2000 and i got a call from a consultant on behalf of airtel that you have to just pay Rs 1450 and your rest of ammount will be waived off..but till now i have'nt got any waiver..and whenever i call customer care they say that you have to pay your outstanding amount. This clearly mean that they (the executives) are misleading the customers so as to acheive their own targets.
