I would like to share continues harassment that I am going through by Airtel Broadband. I have been an Airtel customer for last 3 years. I decided to shift from my house with effect from Aug 01 within the same city. I called up Airtel customer care asking about the transfer of my connection for which I was told will take around 21 days (Please note that as per TRAI guidelines the transfer timeline is 3 days). Hearing this I requested for disconnection of services as no person could continue without an internet connection for that long. I went ahead & cleared my dues so that the disconnection could happen without any issues. I received a call from the retention department of Airtel where the executive shared that the transfer will happen within 3 days as the earlier timeline was given because of some software upgrade which has happened so now the time taken has reduced. Basis this assurance I agreed to go for transfer of connection. To my shock no one bothered to contact me for transfer for the next 25 days. After waiting till August 10 for someone to contact me I decided to get the connection disconnected as Airtel had failed to live up to its commitment. It took me 2 days to finally reach Airtel customer care as they would avoid taking my call the moment I talk about disconnection claiming that a software upgrade is happening so they can’t note my complaint. Finally on August 11 I was able to make it clear that I want my connection to be disconnected. I also told I have moved to another service provider so now do not need your connection.
Despite my clear communication they did nothing. I even wrote them a mail regarding the same on August 11 which they ack but did nothing. Finally I received a call on August 24 from Airtel telling me they have a transfer request from me & would like to start the process. When I told him that I do not want a transfer any more & have already spoken to customer service about disconnection he hung up.
The worst thing is my connection is still active at my last address who would be responsible if the phone is used for some criminal activity by new residents of the house or any third party as I have no control over the old residence. Also Airtel despite not doing there job is still charging me rent for the period when I can’t even use their service?
To my shock yesterday I wrote a mail again to Airtel making it clear I do not wish to continue with their connection at any cost even if it is free despite the mail their representative wrote to me saying they have noted down my request for transfer & have forwarded the same to the concerned department. I have no idea what kind of people does Airtel hire who can’t even read customer’s mails & respond. Also the E-Mail ID of the nodal officer provided by Airtel [email protected] does not work. I am hoping atleast god will save me from Airtel. I will never ever in my life ever use any service or product of Airtel.
Please disconnect my connection...
