Billing for dead phone

Dear Sir / madam,

Broadband landline telephone No. 0161 4641554 is in the name of my wife Ms Parnoop Kaur and has been working regularly since 4 years app. We have been paying the bills regularly and are satisfied with the performance.

In June we have moved to Chandigarh and returned back on 24-12. We did pay visits in between but the telephone was not working. We tried to speak to the customer care but no action was taken since we rang up from our mobile phones.

In the meantime we have paid the bills which came. In December a bill was received for Rs 1700 but Mr Anil of Airtel (0161 4619032) asked us to pay only Rs 700 and promised to get the telephone connection restored. After repeated deliberations the telephone connection was restored on 15th january. But one Mr jagdev from the collections and others keep calling regularly asking us to pay Rs 842 as arrears due while mr anil promised that we will not have to pay. The collections people refused to speak to Mr Anil to clarify the issue. Mr Anil kept giving assurances without any written assurances as demanded by me. Now Mr Anil has been transferred to NCR and another CCE Mr rahul assured me that he will take care. Now we have received a bill asking us to pay Rs 1600 app..

Thus it will be seen that we are being charged for services not rendered. Kindly let me know the options including seeking legal recourse for harassment and unreasonably charging for services not rendered.
