My name is M.Vasanth, I bought a prepaid Airtel simcard (Mobile Number: 9740897547) from the below shop on 29-01 @ 7:55 PM and recharged Rs.333 for full talk time offer along with Rs.56 for 1paise scheme (TransID: 1439048529). I have given my copy of passport Xerox and 1 photo with filled application form.

Also, I have recharged Rs.100 (TransID: 1543648567 - Talk time Rs.86) On 18-02 @ 9:28 PM. I received the below ‘AX-Alerts’ SMS’s on 19-02 @ 2:21:41PM.
“We have been unable to reach you for tele verification of your Airtel Mobile number. Your first outgoing call will reach our tele verification helpdesk. (Msg1of2). (Msg2of2) Kindly extend your support & confirm your name & address to our executive to enjoy continued service.”
After the above SMS’s my incoming and out going calls were barred and when I tried to make outgoing call, it went to verification department. I explained my situation to the Airtel support person and his TL, but got the reply from both the persons to go to dealer shop and Airtel office as they are not responsible for any thing like this and their job is to talk to customer and nothing else. Then I went the above dealer shop and told him my problem, he said he is not responsible for that and his dealership person has to come and look at this and I was asked to go to Airtel office. I was frustrated with the discussion I had with Ambresh, Vinayak, Arjun (TL) – Request number: 0222433261 and many peoples (Not sure the name of the persons) till today.
After that I had requested the dealer to talk to customer care and explain my problem but the response from customer care was “go to nearest AirTel office and resubmit my documents once again” and then I went to the AirTel office which is near to “ JAIDEVA Hospital, BTM layout Bangalore.
I had spend more time there and explained my problem but the result was same as previous they said they are not having authority to any thing and they just dialed hotline and gave it to me. Again same reply, resubmit your documents we will activate your number with in 48 hours and I have submitted the copy of my driving license, company id card and 1 photo copy along with filled application forms.
After 2 submissions (Application serial no: 9622785 on 19-02) also, I have received the same response that ‘go to nearest AIRTEL store as the number is belong to some other girl”.
1. How come AIRTEL sold the same number to 2 persons?
2. Since this is prepaid I have valid talk time on my card, how come they barred both the incoming and out going calls without prior intimation to customer?
3. What was the purpose of the first name/address verification call handled with in 24 hours of sim card activation?
4. As per the latest communication, they said they can’t change the ownership name from that girl to me, in that cause what is the status of the talk time balance available on my sim?
5. Why this verification has taken 24 days of after sim activation?
6. Why the same verification has not taken while the customers recharging their mobiles?
7. Name/address miss match in AIRTEL database is whose fault? Since none of the customers are not entering the customer details in to their database, customer’s job is to fill the application. If application details are correct and not correct in their database means whose mistake? Will they agree that that is their mistakes? They always tell that the details filled in the application were wrong and resubmit the documents once again.
On 23rd Feb I went to RAJSHREE TELECOM shop because that day (22nd Feb - y’day) the shop person told me that one of his dealer consultant’s will come to shop for this problem. It was advised by him that, the same number has been sold to 2 persons and they want my sim card to be return into AirTel office and I need to again resubmit my all documents for getting a new number as they can’t do anything for this number and also they are not responsible for the remaining amounts present in this card.
If required, I will submit all my proofs as I still keeping all the SMS messages in my mobile for proof.
On conclusion, the situation has been very badly handled by Airtel and they are not ready to accept the mistake. It’s great shameful that how AirTel is cheating the customers.
