Airtel Mobile
Fraud via SMS

Since the last 3 months, I have been randomly receiving SMS messages thanking me for subscribing to various services from Airtel such as Hungama, Content Games, HannaMontana etc... all this inspite of me never using these services. I complained to Airtel, but they have been unable to do anything about this. The charge amount has slowly increased form Rs. 100 to Rs 1300 which show up as "SMS OTHER" charges in the bill. I requested Airtel Live to be disabled, and even received an SMS confirming this has been disabled. But I continue to receive these SMS messages and fraudulent charges.

I also spoke with Hungama.com who only said that according to their records it shows that I have actually used this service.

Airtel has also told me that my Nokia E73 may be defective - the NOKIA showroom confirmed that there is no issue with the phone.

This truly smells of a fraud, with Airtel passing the buck to the third party and the third party passing the buck back.

Not sure what I should do other than cancel my phone number which I have had since the past 10 years? Anybody has any ideas or suggestions?
