Migration from prepaid to postpaid taking ages

I hold an Airtel prepaid connection. On January 10th I went to Airtel office at ITPL and applied for migration from prepaid to postpaid (I paid them Rs 300 and I was given a SIM card). I requested them to make the address verification to be completed within 13th January as I was going on vacation on 13th Jan. This was not done and I understand that it could be difficult to get the address verified in 2 days. When I came back from vacation on 1st of Feb I went to the airtel office at ITPL and asked them to get the address verification done now. From then on, I have been contacting airtel (080-41156280) every couple of days and everytime the answer that I get from the Manager at Airtel ITPL office is that the "verification will be done in next two days". For more than a month now I have been getting the same answer but nobody turns up for verification. At times the airtel office says that they will check the details and call me back soon. But they NEVER CALL BACK.

I think the option left for me now is to change to other service provider. Thanks to Mobile Number Portability, I hope I'll not have to loose my number.

This post is an alert to people wanting to migrate from airtel prepaid to postpaid. Hope you do not have to go through the same frustration that I have gone through.
