I recently (couple of months back) disconnected my Airtel Landline. (080 42118307) At the time of disconnection I had personally handed over the handset at their Koramangala official store. I was told I will get the final bill via email as I had CLEARLY specified that I was changing address.
A month later I got no bill via email, but got an SMS on my registered phone that the due was Rs 1254. Despite not getting the bill, I went to the same Koramangala showroom on May 3rd and made the FULL PAYMENT in cash against receipt number 05708769. I was also told that the account was closed and the full and FINAL payment received.
I get a call today saying that COURT NOTICE has been sent to the old address regarding non payment. On giving the telecaller the details of the receipt number etc, she could not confirm the same. This is complete act of DEFAMATION. How can a payment made more than a week back not reflect in the same. Would like a full and final closure confirmation from Airtel in WRITING. Or I will have to make a defamation court notice and send it to Airtel in a week's time with Penal Damages.
