I am Saiprasad Gundeti. I booked a Europe Tour from your Prabhadevi Branch.
I spoke to Assistant Manager, Rohan Parikh (mobile no. : 9892277005) on 19th March.
I wanted to go for Europe tour.
Rohan Parikh offerred me a tour Called "EUROPEAN DELIGHTS", the schedule departure was on 17th may
I told him about my leave dates and made it clear to him that i have only 15 days leave and my dates are NOT FLEXIBLE at all.
The total cost for the tour was approximately Rs. 1, 70, 000 and the dates were feasible for me, so I agreed to take this.
But Rohan told me that i will not get a discount on this package, as there is only one seat and i will get that on request.
So he offered me another package called "BEST OF EUROPE", the schedule departure was on 16th may. He said i will get a discount of Rs. 10, 000 on
this package. so the approximate cost of the tour will be same as "European Delights".
I agreed to his suggestion, as the dates were feasible for me and cost was also same as "EUROPEAN DELIGHTS".
He took RS. 25, 000 from me as initial payment for the tour package; asked me to apply for UK visa ; and told me he will apply for Schengen visa once we get the UK visa.
I applied for the UK visa on 1st April.
When i booked the tour i made it clear to Rohan parikh that my dates are fixed and i cannot change them. I work as the Chief IVF Embryologist in an IVF clinic and because my presence is needed to treat patients, my dates were very rigid.
Even while applying for the visa, Rohan Parikh assured me that I would get the UK visa within 15- 20 days. It’s only based on this confident assurance that I went ahead with the booking
I applied for the UK visa on 1st April. Please note that I applied well in advance! According to Rohan, the visa was expected on 20 - 25 April.
I kept on reminding Rohan for Visa and he assured me that I would get the visa in time and would be able to go on the tour leaving on 16th may.
He was constantly asking me to pay the remaining amount. even before i got the visa.
Look how smart these people are.
He used to increase the tour cost every 10 days saying that Euro value and air fares have increased
When I Got an sms and email confirmation from the UK embassy stating that my UK visa was ready for
collection on 10th may in the evening, I promptly informed Rohan on 11th May in morning at 11 am regarding the fact that my UK Visa was ready and he needed to collect it urgently as the receipt was with him.
I met him again on 12th morning to ask him to apply for the Schenge visa. He said that my passport and documents had been collected
from the UK embassy. but they were at the Thomas Cook Head office. Rather than expedite matters, he took a very lazy careless.
approach, and it took him 2 days to get my passport and documents from head office. i.e from D.N. road to Prabhadevi!
This just shows he was incompetent and careless. He then suggested that I travel on another date! I had clearly informed him that this
was impossible, as I had always clearly told Rohan Parikh that my dates were fixed.
This clearly proves that the booking was cancelled because of the inefficiency on the part of Thomas Cook’s employee.
they confidently over promised that the visa for the UK would be delivered in enough time, but this was not done
This is clearly a deficiency of service on Thomas cook's part
It’s because they could not do so that I had to cancel my trip.
when i asked them for a refund, He (Rohan Parikh) said my advance payment of Rs. 25000 will go in as cancellation charges. On top of it, I was forced to pay another Rs. 5, 200 as visa charges, otherwise they will not give me my passport back.
Can you imagine this kind of Blackmailing from tour operators.
I ask them to refund my booking money, or I will be forced to complain to the Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum
Please dont trust Thomas Cook guys, they are the biggest liers. Especially Rohan Parikh from Prabhadevi branch.
