I, Gp Capt P S Rathore presently posted at Air Force Academy Hyderabad, purchased Country Vacations membership (membership no. DT19/1389) on 26th March for Rs. 60, 000.
I was invited to Amruta Castle to receive the first prize of a lucky draw worth Rs. 25, 000. They offered me the membership of Country Vacations which included various facilities for the members like 10-40% rebate on air tickets on domestic as well as on international flights, accommodation in India and also abroad in Asian and European countries for $95 and $135 per week respectively, free guide and car services during the vacations etc. Because of the repetitive assurance of best and transparent services I decided to buy the membership.
Also, I had plans of going to Dubai, England, Scotland and France in May so I thought it to be a profitable deal. They agreed to book tickets with rebate and accommodation at Dubai, so I became a member thinking that I’m investing money with reliable company and people. But everything was on verbal promises and they turned to be big cheats.
Firstly, while selling the memberships at the function organised by them at Amruta Castle they offered a whole lot of services and facilities, but they mentioned about them only verbally and didn’t show us the written legal document. I have also enclosed the pages on which Mr. Zeeshan and Mr. Ahamad Mohi Uddin explained the services in the morning. In the evening, their sales manager Mr. Zeeshan who was sent by Mr. Ahamad Mohi Uddin who were dealing with us since morning, came to my place with the legal document and hastily got it signed from me (as I had an official commitment I was in a hurry too) and swiped my card on his machine to make the payment. Later, I realised that the legal document did not include all the services he had mentioned to me before. I felt cheated and the things just didn’t end here. Sadly, this company couldn’t even stand up to the conditions mentioned in their own legal agreement.
Later, when I asked the customer care to book the tickets and accommodation they refused, saying that the air- tickets can be booked, with rebates only during a particular period whereas the membership was sold to me claiming that the services are available throughout the year. Also, they asked me to pay extra money (per day) for the accommodations in Dubai which were never mentioned to me before.
Because of this entire nuisance, I finally decided to cancel my membership and asked for the refund. The customer care has refused to refund my money back stating that our contract doesn’t allow us to refund money but that they can only transfer the membership to other’s name.
Now, I want to ask the company, where was your contract when I demanded the services that you had promised to me while selling the membership and that are very well mentioned in the contract also? And, why should I transfer the membership to some other person, so that you have a whole lot of new people to cheat on. My integrity doesn’t allow me to transfer this membership to someone and put him/her into the same trouble that I’m going through. I accept that I made a mistake and bought this membership but that doesn’t give this company the right to keep my money and provide me with no services. I have been contacting them through phone, letters and emails since 25th April (copy attached) but so far have received no positive response from their end.
This company is a big fraud and is only cheating the middle class people of their hard earned money. I don’t want to pay this company a single penny now. I want to cancel my membership immediately and want the entire sum of Rs. 60, 000 to be refunded with interest. I also want the company to pay for the humiliation suffered by me for all these months. The company is the sole defaulter in this case and must refund my entire amount.
