We approached Sree travels for a trip to north India covering Shimla, Kullu, Manikaran, Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Amritsar and Chandigarh. Fortunately, we booked our air tkts directly and asked them to arrange for travel and accommodation. When we discussed, we were told that accommodation would be given in a 3 star hotel and a Tavera would be given with an English speaking driver. As I went with my wife and 2 daughters, they also agreed to provide rooms with triple cots. When we landed in Chandigarh airport, we got an indigo, in which half of the boot space was occupied by the driver’s luggage and neither the vehicle had a luggage carrier..We protested with the local agent and also with Ms. PADMA OF SREE TRAVELS, both of them asked me to speak to the other person. Finally they agreed to give a Xylo, the next day, for which we had to wait for a couple of hours. THIS WAS THE ONLY WORD THEY KEPT UP IN THE WHOLE TOUR. The accommodation at Chandigarh was average but when we went to shimla the next day, the hotel was pathetic (Sitara Regency). This is a typical lodge wherein a person with a family should not step in-EVERYTHING WAS BAD, from location to linen, to the cleanliness, toilets. We called Mr. ELANTHIRAYAN and protested. He washed off his hands, saying that 3 star wasn’t committed and said that the hotel in Kullu would be better. We accepted his words and went to Kullu, only to find another pathetic hotel, which is one shade better that the Shimla hotel. Again we called Sree travels, who again informed us that the hotel in Manali would be better than Kullu. In the meanwhile the 2nd installment I gave to Sree travels was returned, due to signature difference-this is the TURNING POINT and we felt that we should take the program in our hands, instead of allowing it to become a disaster. Even here they insisted that I pay Rs.20K at Kullu itself, which I did, but withheld the balance Rs.13k.. We then called Sree travels, to cancel the bookings at Manali, Amritsar, Chandigarh-we took this stand based on the very poor ratings for these hotels in the trip advisor and we were clearly not in a mood to experience such pathetic hotels again. We quickly booked a very good hotel in Manali (hotel Vintage), this hotel also helped us to book our accommodation at Dharamshala and from there, we managed our hotel bookings thro’ trip advisor, on our own. In the meanwhile, Sree travels were following- up for the balance payment and we thought we will use their hotel in Dharamshala (hotel vatika). After reaching the hotel, we found that this hotel is not in Dharamshala, but in a place called Chamunda, about an hour away from Dharamshala. With the help of vintage, we checked-in to a hotel in Mcleodganj (if people want to stay in Dharamshala they should stay in Mcleodganj and not at places like Chamunda) We told Sree travels to give credit for the accommodation not used by us and then would pay the balance amount. They refused and attempted to stop our vehicle, on our way to Dalhousie. We agreed to give money for the diesel and the driver obliged and took us upto Dalhousie. This led to a lot of anxiety and from Dalhousie we were prepared to take another taxi to Amritsar and also booked our train tickets from Amritsar to Chandigarh as we were anticipating trouble from Sree travels. However, the driver was very helpful-he spoke to the Chandigarh agent and agreed to complete the tour with an additional payment of Rs.3500. We somehow managed to make the tour memorable, as we arranged stay in good hotels. Left to Sree Travels, the whole trip would have been a complete disaster. They behaved like thugs, when you do not accept their proposal ; complete mis-representation on what they have committed on accommodation. ; Incapable of understanding what we require.By booking directly, we may spend a little more time and money but the vacation would be good. HAVING GONE TO SREE TRAVELS IS THE WORST DECISION I HAVE MADE ON VACATION PLANNING.. For heaven’s sake, do not make this mistake
