I was at Elysium Garden hotel in Munnar, Kerala on 28th October with my wife. We were booked into this hotel by our tour company - Planet tours (Mumbai) and Kerala tours in Kerala.
On reaching the hotel after 7:30 PM we found that the room was in an absolutely horrendous condition - duct tape on the door lock, dirty room, bathroom, bed and bedsheets - the room door could not even be shut properly as there was no lock but duct tape.
We complained to the hotel manager and he showed us the only other available room which was a cottage at a much higher rate. Since it was late and my wife was not feeling ok we took the room deciding to talk to the tour company the next day, which we did and later found out that they would not refund us the amount we spent on the "better" room.
We spoke with the Tour company - Planet tours, and their Kerala counterpart about this shoddy treatment and over charge by the hotel.
They refused to do anything. Hence I'm registering a complaint here to let everyone know about the poor customer service by:
Hotel Elysium garden.

Planet tours.
