I tried to book 2 tickets for 3-tier AC coach in GWL BJU Mail (Train Number 11124) on 10-Jan-2013. I used my CITI bank debit card to book the tickets but the transactions failed. I tried to book tickets for two times and both the times, transactions failed. Two times, Rs. 876 (Fare) and Rs. 30 (Service Charges) - a total of Rs. 1782 was deducted from my CITI bank account without booking any ticket.
Error message at IRCTC said - Payment not received by the bank
I escalated the same problem to CITI bank customer service and got the below reply -
"Dear Ms. Mishra, This is with reference to your query dated January 10, 2013. Our records indicate that you have made online purchase of Rs. 876.00 on January 10, 2013 towards IRCTC.CO.IN. We confirm that the purchase has been successfully made and the payment has been effected to the Merchant vide Payment Voucher (PV) 5601194253731301 and trace number 760839, 760887. Please refer to PV 5601194253731301 and trace numbers - 760839 and 760887 and refund my money which is Rs. 876 Rs. 876 Rs.15 Rs.15.
= Rs. 1782 to the same CITI bank account.
