Airtel customer care is very bad. I have called them to cancel my account and the agent told me that he does not have the permission to cancel it and he needs to forward me to another department which will make me a call back in 4 hrs. I did not get any call within the stipulated SLA. I reminded them one more time after a day's wait and now they gave me another id for future references with the same story. Still i did not get any response from them. I had to call them up again after waiting one more day. Same story awaits. Moreover surprisingly, i was told by the agent that no supervisor was available.

Finally the concerned department calls me up and says that it is cancelling the account as of today and not the day of submission.

Funny part is they are charging me for speaking to their customer care and no service was available including their supervisor and the concerned department. The person started giving me gyan of how reputed this airtel company is and when i shared the story, he simply backed out saying that he will take my feedback and put the phone down.

Not sure if this is the same case when we cancel the mobile service. Such a pathetic situation, hope the awareness of Customer Relationship increases in India.
