I bought 2 Godrej ACs (1.5 ton) around 3 years ago. It worked fine for 1 season and then started giving problems. First the motor of the AC went bad Since it was out of warranty, I spent Rs. 4000. Within a few months, the gas leaked and another 2700 was spent. Soon the panel display stopped responding and they changed the capacitor for 350. Within a month the display panel stopped working again which had to be changed. Then I was encouraged to get an AMC which I got for 2500. After a couple of months again AC stopped cooling. This time instead of filling the gas which was covered free of cost under the AMC, I was told the front coil has gone bad. I was told this was not covered under AMC and I had to pay 3800 again.
Second AC has a similar story and I filled gas 3 months ago for 2200. Another 500 was added to bill for fixing some motor noise issue which was never there when AC was taken away to the factory to fill gas. Now after 3 months, the gas has leaked again with ice deposits in the front. Gas filling is guaranteed for 6 months but I am told yet again for the second AC that the front coil needs to be changed costing around 3800.
I don't know whether the product is such a pathetic quality or it is just harassment and making money by always finding problems which are not covered in AMC.
With or without AMC its a nightmare using Godrej ACs despite being a well known brand.
I regret having purchased these products and expect this to be addressed at top priority.
