My 19 year old daughter was approached by a man claiming to be a "New York City fashion photographer, and "Top Model Scout". He gave her a business card with the name "John Dowling", and printed on it were very tacky pictures of scantilly clad young women, none of whom could be described as being very attractive. This individual told my daughter that he had the "connections" in the model industry to make her "famous", and that it was just a matter of time before this would happen. When he became very pushy and overly suggestive with Elyse, I immediately conducted an internet search. I saw here on this site where there were many entries under "John Dowling", and not a single one of them was flattering. I called New York City model agencies, three of them. Two of them knew who he was, and recommended that we stay far away from Mr. Dowling. Accordingly, we have decided to do exactly that. I found his "website" to be very difficult to navigate, and extremely sexist, in nature. I have nineteen year old daughter to think of, and cannot possibly allow her to become involved with a man that a prominent New York City model agency described to me as "a creep". After seeing the amount of complaints about this man, i decided to contribute.
