Misbehaviour of Branch Manage

It is very unfortunate that we have to come forward with our complaint against the Branch Manger Mr. Lahiri.

I Ms. Deepali Agrawal have a saving account with the Ramdaspeth Bank, Nagpur. The Account No. is 52532210015211. I had made an FD of Rs. 21 Lacks on 15 April with the bank for 440 days at an interest for 9.25%.

At the time of the FD it was wrongly conveyed to me that if I break my FD before the maturity date for any reason and that if i keep it for min. 30days I shall be getting the same rate of interest with a deduction of 2%. Now since there was a change in the rate of interest on 6 May I did not renewed it waited for 30 Days and on 19 may I renewed the same FD’s. Now on 25 may for some reason I took the statement from the bank at that time I found that I was only given 3.5% instead of what was told to me. I went to Mr. Lahiri for clarification.

But instead of clarifying the things to me he shouted on me and conveyed the staff to give away my FD and he do not need my FD’s it not a big amount for the bank In front of other customers, it was very insulting and immediately I left the bank and did not made any complaint against him looking into my relation with the bank.

Now on 30 May my FD amount was transferred in my Saving account without my knowledge hence I was forced to take it to HDFC. Do a branch manger have such powers??? I am paid only 3.5% instead of 4.5%.

There was other matters which where pending with Mr. Lahiri for other Account in the name of M/s Cooling Solution The account No is 52531010003383 as well as an OD account of same firm and the no. is 52531250000271. We had applied for the internet banking for this two accounts along with an application for multicity cheque book in the month of April. Now whenever inquired Mr. Lahiri said it will come in a week But it was almost 2 months that both the application was pending so on 22 june we talked with the AGM IT Bangalore it was surprising to know from him that they have not received any request from the branch till date immediately we faxed an application for the internet banking and on the same day the password was generated and dispatched to the Branch.

Till date the issue of multicity cheque book is pending. Simultaneously we had forwarded an application of our renewal of the OD Account to the branch on which Mr. Lahiri said you use the account till June and we shall than renew the same and extent you limit from 5 Lacks to 10 lacks as requested in April.

Now as we had made the complaint Mr. Lahiri on 29/06 called me on my mobile around 1:06pm and started shouting on top of his voice for putting the complaint and he will see me. My family had witnessed the same because when he called my father and brother heard it as the speaker phone was on. I disconnected the call.

Now on same date he came to my office along Mr. Shakarkar round 4 pm. But as he had already insulted me twice and he do not have manners to address a lady I asked Mr. Shakarkar that if Mr. Lahiri is ready to talk in peacefull manner I am ready to talk and if he wish to shout and I am not interested. I Invited them to my cabin but instead of coming and talking Mr. Lahiri left my office and this attitude of his shows he came to me not to resolve the issues but to shout on me one more time.

My question is

First How Mr. Lahiri is at the post of Branch Manager when he is not aware of the procedure of the bank. He has no answer why the internet banking facility was pending for more than 2 months when it is just an issue of few minutes.

Secondly when for issuing of multicity cheques book needs the RO permission then why he did not took the same. And without the permission he moved the application as a reason the multicity cheque was not issued.

Thirdly Why the rate of interest was paid less to me.

Fourthly do he has a right to shout on the customer especially to a lady customer not once but again and again.

Fifth Why he his not renewing the OD limit when all the required papers are submitted to him.

Sixth the branch office have now given me the internet code but again kept the login ID with them as a result it is of no use to me.

The Regional manger is making sweet talks with me and asking me to forgive Mr. Lahiri as he is senior to me Do he respected me. I am insulted and it is accepted from me to forgive rather being sorry to me.

Now I request you to please clarify me and if Mr. Lahiri do not apologize in writing for his misconduct then definitely I will forward my complaints to RBI and file a case in consumer court for giving me less rate of interest and for iltreating me.

I will wait for next 48 hours. Than shall I proceed legally
