Franklin Templeton Smaller Companies Fund- Dividend
Refusal of redemption after statutory three year period

I made an investment of Rs.10000 in franlin Templeton Smaller companies fund-dividend through ICICI Direct on 1.12.2005. I expected to be able to redeem the investment after three years and tried redemption in August. ICICIdirect advised me that it is a closed fund with redemption only on 28-12. I have their SMS message.

Again today on 26th March after 4 years and three months, the ICICI direct redemption window gives the same message that it is a closed fund and I can neither redeem nor switch out> My funds cannot be permanently locked up like this. I had promised assistance to my sister to make a payment and this is likely to face difficulites now.

Please help.
