Misinformation

I wanted to save money as a fixed deposit for a longer period of time.hdfc bank employee at aundh road branch pune, advised me to save it in ULIP.i explained i could not afford to lose money as i was a single mom and finding difficult to make ends meet.she said it worked just like an FD... all i had to do was if i needed the money i could withdraw the amt after 3 yrs.now after 3 yrs for deposits of rs.40000/- i hv got check back for rs.20000/- losing 50% of the money.

this is a clear case of misinformation.i feel deceived.not something i expected fm a reputed bank like hdfc.i hv rs.55000/- more in ULIP. this means i could lose upto 25-30000/- more.

i would want this matter looked into and necessary action taken.i could provide more dtls as and when reqd.
