I had issued HDFC bank cheque to my borther, who submitted it to his bank SBI for clearnace. As my account was having insufficeint finds, HDFC deducted charges. First deduction was of 386.05 which I can understand as cheque return charges for 12th August.
When my brother checked it with his bank, they (SBI) confirmed reason of rejection was not correct first time. It was mentioned as "other reasons". Reason code number 20. Because of this they presented the cheque again to you on 14th August.
Cheque is again bounced and this time deduction is of 827.25 as penality from my account.
Only second time, reason for rejection was mentioned correctly as " insufficient funds".
Beacuse of carelessness of HDFC bank, I have to bear the additional penality of 832 ruppes.
When I called phone banker, they refused to book the complaint.
When I visited branch, they also refused to take it up. I hope my complaint hear will reach to deaf ears of Bank management and they can atleast try to investigate the matter.
