Settlement Issue

This is in regards to the above mentioned card number which belongs to Jyotsna Doshi (my mother).

We were offered a settlement on the mentioned card number for the outstanding amount. The settlement amount was INR 1, 25, 000.00.

The same was offered by Mr. Amit Joshi of HDFC Credit Card collection department. He is based at the Kanjurg Marg office.

The settlement letter stated that the card holder must pay the outstanding amount in 5 installments. We completed the settlement amount in 8 installments.

The main issue is that we were aware that we have to pay in 5 installments, and when we crossed the 5 installments, Mr. Amit Joshi urged us to continue paying and assured that he shall make sure that everything will go against the above mentioned settlement amount. Due to which we did not request for a new settlement. Now, when the above mentioned amount has been paid in 8 installments, Mr. Ritesh & Mr. Nikhil Udas of HDFC credit card collection department (Wilson House, Andheri (E)), called us on the phone and asked us to make payment for the outstanding amount. This came to our shock, where in Mr. Amit Joshi collected INR 1, 25, 000.00 in 8 installments and told us that our account is settled.

We also met Mr. Nikhil Udas at Wilson House (Andheri E), informed him about the whole scenario & conveyed our concern on this issue. We do agree that we paid the settlement amount in 8 installments instead of 5 installments. Although, if Mr. Amit Joshi had informed us of such an outcome, then we would have requested for a new settlement. Eventually, you would agree that our intention of settling the outstanding was evident by the payment of INR 1, 25, 000.00. Also note that Mr. Amit Joshi does not answer my phone calls, obviously meaning that he understands his fault in this issue.

Also please note that since the time this issue rose Mr. Amit Joshi has been rejected our phone calls.

I kindly request you to look into this matter at your earliest and close this case.
