I had a card from HSBC Bank. I used the card for some time and paid all the outstanding on time. Later I stopped using this credit card. Also, the address for correspondence was my office address and email was official email. I switched the company in January.
One day (Sep 2010) while checking my credit cards I found that my HSBC credit was missing. So I called up the customer care of HSBC for reporting the lost card. Then the customer care told me that there was an outstanding of Rs. 8997/- and the card was already closed. I was shocked because I had not used the card for long long time.
On inquiring further I found out that, without my knowledge HSBC renewed my credit card, and issued some add on cards which I never asked for or received. They kept on accumulating interest and other charges and the amount went on to to become 8997/-.
I have sent a mail to HSBC, but haven't received any response. What can I do further? I don't want to spoil my credit history. And I don't want to pay these absolutely unjustified charges.
