HSBC
Annual Charges being levied on a 3 year free card

I have used a HSBC Platinum Card till the month of June. There were some issues related to a payment made on the Due Date in spite of which I was asked to pay late payment charges. I paid up and stopped using the card and called HSBC to cancel my card. They could not connect me to their internal department for cancellation. Thereafter I have never used the card. This card was given to me as a free card for 3 years and the expiry is in Jan.

On Aug 19th I received several calls from HSBC collection department asking me to pay up Rs 3445. The reason being, my card has been charged with annual charges in the month of Jan which I failed to pay because I never received any statement. However these charges were reversed later and I have to pay the late payments charges for not paying up the annual charges since Jan which comes to Rs. 3500. Nobody called me to pay up in between within these seven months.

My statement used to come to my office that has changed and all these mail bounces were never informed. Only after 180 days of non-payment of late payment charges on account of some charge that should not have come to my card at all I am getting calls 15 times a day.
