ICICI Direct deactivated my account without informing me. I had submitted PAN card verification form along with the proof with their executive in September. Still they deactivated my account at the beginning of January and I was unable to log in and trade. I had to call them repeatedly until they informed me that I had to re-submit the PAN card verification form (they had messed up the first time). The executive who came to my home to collect the papers informed me that the verification will be processed in 3 days time and the account deactivation was not because of the pending verification and he would get it activated in 2 days time. I had to wait for 13 days before the PAN verification process was completed. I again had to contact the bank to question about the deactivated status of my trading account, this time I was informed that I had to apply for a re-activation of my account which would take 12 days. That is a total of 2 months deactivated state of my trading account. They make it very difficult to close the trading account with the bank as well.

I have had to re-submit my personal documents with the bank for 3 times over the past 8 years. They keep claiming that their records were lost. I am sure the bank will create a lot of problem during closing of trading and savings account with the bank as well.
