Unethical pratices followed by ICICI Lombard

I have tried sending mail to Mr. Easwar natarajan from the icic lombard website was unable to do that, it just doesnt seem to work. They have developed the website in suc a way that the complaint doesnt reach them.

I decided to buy a Health insurance & brought one from your company as I really liked the easy documentation & nothing much of a paper work & also going by the brand name.

Before this happened your executives literally dogged me morning & evening eating into my working hours (I had decided to make a payment online on your IVRS & apparently it was working). After purchasing the Insurance I came to know of one another policy for my mother which was still valid.

I decided to cancel this policy, as your executive ‘RAJ PRAJAPATI’ was the guy who sold the policy to me & i contacted him. He was quick enough to transfer me to his half minded & liar supervisor ‘SAGAR’.

So Mr. Sagar asked me the reasons for getting the policy cancelled & he same was told to him. I asked him how to proceed, he said that I would have to buy another policy so as to get this one cancelled without any cancellation charges, which otherwise would be 25 %.

He also mentioned this would be possible only if I brought a new policy as he would be showing me as a existing customer & take care of it. He mentioned this would be a backend processing & would be taken care. I was told not to speak about this in the verification call as it would be recorded & he would not be able to anything about it, if I spoke. He made me buy one more health insurance.

He made me believe all this stuff & said that the reimbursement would reflecting in my same month statement & he would take care of everything. Which eventually never happened & my calls were unanswered, This half Minded & Liar supervisor vanished into thin air. I am sitting & waiting for the refund & paying interest for the amount swiped on my credit card.

Finally I sent an e-mail to your customer care to cancel the policy, they replied back asking for the same old details that was taken during verification. I don’t understand the whole concept of torturing your customers asking for some many details over & over again when you already have them, the whole process is very painful & your executives derive some kind of pleasure from it. I am reluctantly replying to the e-mail, as I think I have made a wrong choice by choosing your product.

I also hold 650 shares of ICICI ltd, which I have been holding since the time of crisis.

I would still forgive you guys for all this, BUT WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU GUYS FOR CONNING ME INTO BUYING A POLICY.

Your executives are trained to Hard sell without any ethics instilled in them. Please imbibe some ethics into your executives if its not a part of the training program make it a part. Going further if you have outsourced it your franchisees & have no control over it, you people sitting in the top management are to take the blame.

I decided to skip your escalation matrix as I don’t believe it’s going to resolve the problem. All I am looking from this communication is:

*Speedy cancellation & Refund of my policy.

*Cancellation of policy without any charges as promised by your executive.

*Train your executive not to cheat customers & tell them there is something called as ethics & integrity.

*If you are unable to cancel my policy number mentioned above without applying any cancellation charges, please cancel this policy 4034i/CHT/05304772/00/000.

I really hope something positive is going to come out of this & other customers are not conned in similar way. Sometimes I feel cheated & want to sue you guys but don’t have time for it.

I have tried to maintain highest level of professionalism with my current state of mind.
