We (Dr Satya Prakash Mehra along with my wife Mrs. Sarita Mehra and cousin Mr. Himmat Ram) are tenant of Mr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma since 11 August at the address - Raj Mansion, B -167, Jawahar Nagar, Bharatpur 321001 Rajasthan. We are paying Rs 6, 000/- without any facility (maintenance of house) from landlord (Mr. R . P. Sharma). Further, we are not getting any receipt for the rent taken by landlord (despite of the fact we asked him several times of giving us receipts). I (Dr. S.P. Mehra) keep on traveling out of station most of the time.
Recently (2 february), Mr. R.P. Sharma came to collect his rent and asked us to pay extra amount from next month. We requested him to provide all the basic facilities to justify the increase in rent. He was adamant and simply replied that he is being landlord could do anything on his own will. We further, informed him that it is not possible for us to increase the rent without the facilities (maintenance) required by any tenant. He refused for any maintenance and asked us to vacate the house. We requested him to give us time to change the house.
It is requested to the platform to help us to overcome the problem as I will be on tour (out of station) and don't want the landlord to harass my family. Further, we are academicians and social workers engaged in social upliftment activities in rural areas of Bharatpur. At least for six months, we are busy with such work. Neither we could bear higher rent without any maintenance and other basic amenities provided by landlord.
Also, let us know how we could overcome such threats from the landlord.
