About 7 to 8 days back I collected ATM card from J & K Bank Ltd; B/U Baghi-Mehtab Sgr., and on 09.11.2010 I went to operate the card at ATM Rawalpora as I had to pay tuition fee to my tutors, very unfortunately my card did not work, displaying message that your card is not valid/invalid account. I immediately rushed to B/U Baghi Mehtab where I told them that what is the problem my card is not working and they told me that it takes 10 days to get activated. When I told them that what are you saying I know after acknowledging it takes half an hour to activate, it means you have not acknowledged my card when you have issued it to me. The concerned official namely Arfat Ahmad misbehaved with me, and it is pertinent to mention here that when one month back I approached them for opening of new account, at that time I humbly requested this person Arfat Ahmad to please make a requisition for my ATM card and get it at an earliest possible time. The said person told me that it takes two months to get a card and notoriously told me, bring an application for ATM. Then again on production of application I requested him for early requisition and told him that previously I got ATM within 10 days from B/O Chanapor. In reply this person told me that why are you not going there again, it is better to open account there, we will not open your account.
Kindly let me know does activation of card takes 10 days, should an responsible bank official talk like this.
