I hold family mediclaim policy of New India insurance since 19 Jan & there is continuous renewal every year since then till today. MDIndia is the TPA.
I was in hospital from 7th May 10 to 14th May 10 in a Thane hospital in Maharashtra State. I had CABG & AVR operation in 1997. I also had H/T & DM which was not declared.
My attending physician mentioned all these things in the certificate But also mentioned that my illness (low Na in blood) had no relationship with my existing illnesses/diseases. In other words what he meant was even if I DID NOT have H/T & DM, I still could have got this problem. Even with this comment MDIndia had regretted payment of claim. Insurer New India Ass.Co. is not able to convince them. Now I am thinking of approaching Ombudsman & IRDA.
