I have been using AMEX card for a few years now and since inception statements have not been sent on a timely basis leading to me paying the dues late however AMEX did reverse all charges on account of late payment
Off late an executive missold an insurance policy (through AMEX card) to me and quoted a lower premium that was charged on my card, I complained to AMEX and requested them to cancel the insurance and informed them that I will not pay till the amount due towards the premium which they agreed to however they pleaded with me later (after considerable delay) and I agreed to continue the insurance, now I have been charged an additional Rs. 5000/- as credit charges which I never requested for.
I have informed AMEX that Iam willing to pay for the insurance and the card renewal fee if they reverse the credit charges and agree to continue the card with my credit limit remaining intact however they have refused and are threatening to cancel the card which automatically cancels the insurance and obviates the renewal fee, however they will continue to claim these amounts from me despite cancelling the card leading to cancellation of insurance and report a default to CIBIL
I am totally helpless and need guidance to ensure that my CIBIL is not wrongfully updated by AMEX
