Sir, i am a electronics and instrumentation engg basicallly an automation engineer. i got this email. i am afraid that this is fake. pls help. and do necessary steps. and tell me what to do? after geeting a offer letter i get the follwing attachemnt.what should i do?

We are pleased to offer you a position with CHEVRON OIL SCOTLAND. Your starting date, compensation, benefits, and other terms of employment will be as set forth below and on EXHIBIT A.

1. Position and Duties. CHEVRON OIL SCOTLAND shall employ you, and you agree to competently and professionally perform such duties as are customarily the responsibility of the position as set forth in the job description.

2. Outside Business Activities. During your employment with CHEVRON OIL SCOTLAND, you shall devote competent energies, interests, and abilities to the performance of your duties under this Agreement. During the term of this Agreement, you shall not, without (CHEVRON) prior written consent, render any services to others for compensation or engage or participate, actively or passively, in any other business activities that would interfere with the performance of your duties hereunder or compete with (CHEVRON) business.

3. Employment Classification. You shall be a contract Employee and shall be entitled to benefits as specifically outlined herein.

CHEVRON OIL SCOTLAND shall pay expatriate on satisfactory performance of the services stated in Article 1, the sum of GBP 9, 650.00 (Nine Thousand Six Hundred and Fifty British Pounds only) monthly/take-home (After tax), with GBP 400.00 (Four Hundred British Pounds) weekly for pocket allowance.

CHEVRON OIL SCOTLAND shall pay for services rendered in Article 1 by cheque presented on a monthly basis at the rate stated above and the weekly pocket allowance in cash to the employee.

CHEVRON OIL SCOTLAND will pay all the fees in Pound sterling or equivalent depending on employee’s home currency.

CHEVRON OIL SCOTLAND will take care of all expenses (travel documents, immunizations etc.) Employer shall also take care of employee Flight ticket including that of employee’s family only when the employee procure his/her United kingdom Residence/Work Permits Clearance Papers with the United Kingdom external foreign affair department in conjunction with the United Kingdom immigration service, through the help of our company’s attorney.

CHEVRON OIL SCOTLAND will send three months up-front salary to employee before embarking on journey after the confirmation of the Clearance document through the company attorney.

4. Vacation Policy: The Employee shall be entitled to a yearly vacation of three month at full pay,

4.1 Employer for each intercontinental trip shall pay £2500.00 flat rate travel/entertainment allowance to employee. Travel shall be by business class/first class. However for the purpose of commencement, the cost of travel ticket shall be paid in addition to travel/entertainment allowance.

4.2 Employer shall also take care of employees' travel ticket including that of employees' family only on employees' early notification to employer and as shall be requested by employee.

5. Benefits. You will also receive (CHEVRON) standard employee benefits package (including health insurance for you and your family), and will be subject to (CHEVRON) vacation policy as such package and policy are in effect from time to time.

5.1 Death Benefit: Should Employee die during the term of employment, the (CHEVRON) shall pay to Employee's estate any compensation due through the end of the month in which death occurred and will also ensure that he/she is given a befitting funeral according to the expatriate tradition in his home town.

5.2 Other Benefits

 Free medical care in SCOTLAND for you and your family for contract duration.

5.3 Computer Resources: Laptop Computer, 1.6 GHz Processor, 496 MB RAM, 24XCD-RW, 30GB Hard Drive, Floppy Drive, Integrated Network Adapter, Internal 56K Modem, Spare Battery and Necessary Software. Full time Internet access is also made available.

5.4 Phones: the employer will provide each employee with one (1) Landline and one (1) Mobile Telephone. This shall have a reasonable credit limit application per month.

5.5 Local Transportation: Standby new company car will parked in your apartment for movement.

5.6 Office Space: Adequate private office space in a conducive and comfortable work environment shall be provided for each employee.

6. Authorization To Work: Due to the second ministerial meeting between American Union (AU) on terrorism, which was held in Washington DC on 12 October. Where regulations adopted on Immigration Reform and Control Act, you will need to present documentation demonstrating that you have authorization to work in Scotland. This documents, which include work permit, Resident permit, which you will obtain from the Scotland Ministry of Interior Affairs through a registered Immigration Attorney (Agents are not accepted), that work with them as stated.

7. Severability: If any of the provisions of this Agreement are determined to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, such provisions shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make such provisions enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect to the extent the economic benefits conferred upon the parties by this Agreement remain substantially unimpaired.

JOB PROCEEDING/REQUIREMENT:

You are required to present an Affidavit of Guarantee and your Job registration certificate from the British Ministry of work in conjunction with the board of internal affairs which must be procured from a British High Court here in the United Kingdom through the British High Court, as this is in line with the constitutional policy and code of conduct which you must adhere for us to be able to send your certificate of sponsorship for the collection of your free employment visa, work and residence permit. * Employee shall be authorized three (3) times paid vacation during the term of the contract, to be used at the employees ‘discretion after duly informing and receiving approval from employer’s management.

FORCE MAJEURE

Notwithstanding anything herein stated, neither party should be considered in default in the performance of its obligations under this Agreement as a result of Force Majeure.

The term "Force Majeure" shall include but not limited to Act of God, War, Nationwide strike, Lockout, Riot and Civil commotion. A strike or Lockout embarked upon by only the management personnel shall not be deemed to be included in this term.

If an interruption of work occurs as a result of "Force Majeure" for up to seven (7) days, 70% of the basic daily fees shall be paid as standby.

NOTE: All UK based employees' are to report personally to our office with identification materials for signing and collection of hard copy of their contract documents.
