Corruption prevailing in National Insurance Company Limited Divisional Office II, Dholewal Chowk G.T Road, Ludhiana

Dear Sir

I am the owner of Volkswagen POLO Car bearing registration no. PB 10 CY-5900 covered under policy No. 401012045819 dated: 16.07.2011 with National India Insurance Limited, Divisional Office II, and Dholewal Chowk G.T Road, Ludhiana through its dealer M/s Lally Motors.

On 25th of August, I along with my wife was driving from my sister’s home who lives in Central Town, Pakhowal road, Ludhiana to my home. The road was badly damaged and was full of Pits. Since it was rainy season and road was full of muddy water and time of accident was around 10.00 p.m. in the night the car was hit by some stone in the bottom from the base of engine part. I stopped the car but couldn’t find anything wrong as it was dark around and was almost nil visibility.

Further the intensity of impact didn’t come to my alarming notice as it appeared to be a mild hit. After driving few miles all of sudden my car stopped on near Model Gram, Pakhowal road, Ludhiana. I called my brother in Law and towed my car with Rope and parked it to my in-laws residence which was approx. 300 meters from the place of accident. In the morning I called the Authorized Dealer of the company “M/s Lally Motors, Ludhiana” which arranged for pickup from the same place to the Service Centre.

On 26th August, I gave a written intimation to National India Insurance Limited, Divisional Office II, and Dholewal Chowk G.T Road, Ludhiana who appointed Mr. Harsh Kumar Laroiya as surveyor. I got a letter from Mr. Harsh Laroiya on 1st September which was duly replied within 24 hours.

I repeatedly asked Mr. Harsh Laroiya about the status of claim and I was conveyed that the claim can be settled only if I pay handsome amount as this amount has to be distributed from Top to bottom. I was shocked as we have never dealt such kind of situation ever before. I consulted this matter with my friend and I was advised to talk to Mr. Daljeetam (Senior DM).

I personally went to the office of National India Insurance Company regarding my claim, met Mr. Daljeetam, (Senior DM) but instead of looking in the matter Mr. Daljeetam started shouting at me and warned me not to talk to any of senior officials again. Also he said that “You try your level best for this claim and let me see how you can get it. You have done biggest mistake of making complaint. You could have got this claim very easily if you have settled with our surveyor”. When I said I will go to Hon’able court for Justice, he replied it’s your wish but we will not pay you the claim.

Mr. Daljeetam also transferred my case to surveyor Mr. Ramesh Goyal (The reason best known to Mr. Daljeetam).

Meanwhile I contacted senior officials of the National Insurance Company and brought this matter into their kind notice also.

Again after few days I was asked by the Insurance Company to supply the technical report from authorized service Centre which was also duly submitted. Again on 21st September, I got an explanation letter about the accident from Mr. Ramesh Goyal which I replied on 22nd September.

My Car is ready with M/s Lally Motors from past few days. I have been harassed & humiliated from last 40 days & till date I have not been given any status of claim. I have not done anything wrong except that I got Insurance done from National Insurance Company. The delayed tactics are used by the company officials just because of their malefic intentions only.

I am being repeatedly asked for bribes by the officials of the company who says that I shall not be given proper due till they are given some “Chai- Paani” (bribe). In my view there is a big nexus operating by Mr. Daljeetam and his surveyors. The working style of Mr. Daljeetam and his surveyors is to harass the genuine sufferers till they are ready to pay their share. If any enquiry is undertaken on this matter, a big corrupt nexus shall come out to help and relief common man from these corrupt officers.

You are requested to look into the matter and mark an appropriate enquiry into the same.
