I saw an advert on Quikr.com, it was regarding an imported Toyota MR2 car. The sellers name is Harry Machintosh ([email protected]) and is from Washington, USA. He quotes Rs 2, 40, 000/- (two lakh forty thousand rupees) for a 2004 model which is in immaculate condition. The actual market value of this car is more than 15 lakh rupees. He has also posted a few pics of this car. When contacted via email regarding more details of the car, he sends out a template in an email saying that the car is in good condition and is kept with capital couriers in Mumbai-21. He also mentioned that the customs are paid and 240 is the final price. I asked him if I can go and see the car in person he said Its kept in a container & we cannot go and see it at the capital couriers warehouse. Neither can we take a look at the papers. The deal is that we have to give him our details and pay capital couriers the said amount, then the courier co will deliver the car to us and we have 7 days to examine the car. If we like it then we keep it, if not then we can return the car and out money will be refunded. I tried contacting the capital couriers office (he has given their website in his email: wwwcapital-courier-shipping-company.tk) but they didnt have phone no on their website (can you beat that!) I searched on google, and found a company registered by that name. called them to inquire and they said that they just have one office all over the world, asked them if they had any idea of a Toyota car, they said that they didnt deal in such things. They have received such inquiries before as well and filled a lawsuit as well. I request you guys to not fall prey to such adverts offering thigs for cheap as most of them are complete fraud.
