I booked a Fiat Punto 90 hp Deisel car from Fortune Cars Pvt Ltd on 31st December which was delivered to me on 7/03. However, the vehicle delivered to me had a number of problems regarding its engine, AC, Music System and the steering. The steering wobbles at about 80kmph. Within 3-4 days we returned the vehicle for repair back to Fortune Cars. They promised to repair and return the vehicle back within three days stating that it was a minor problem. After three days we collected the car and they said that there was some problem with some of the sensors which they had replaced and gauranteed that there wont be any problem now. However, the problem was not solved at all. The problem with the engine was still there, AC vents were not working properly, music system not replaced. Also when I was driving around 80kmph the car started wobbling and the vehicle was out of control almost leading to a major accident. I informed them about the problems and they told me to return the vehicle for another three days repair. I left the car at Fortune and returned after three days only to find dumb engineers with no answer about the problem. They told me that a team from Fiat India would visit the service centre and fix the problem and asked me to return after another three days. Now they said that they have replaced the turbo charger of the engine and many other parts as well. When I returned back they say that even the engineers from Fiat didn't know what the problem was and stood dumb when asked about the progress of work.
I issued them a letter stating refund of money since I was worried about using this defective vehicle and my safety. I also issued a letter to Fiat India Corporate office in Chembur. No answer for a week. I visit them and they say that a person from Tata will meet me and I can talk to him after 3 days. The next day they call up again and tell that there was a minor problem in the car and now it is solved. When asked about the Ac, music system and the wobbling problem they say they will solve it. After 2 days that is 7/4, the Tata correspondent calls for a talk and says that all the problem was solved long back and they cannot do much about taking the car back. He says that he can give gaurantee about the good performance of the car now. All the employees keep on giving gaurantee on the working of the car. We have hardly used the car for a week and it is with Fortune for repair since 3 weeks.
All this problem was caused due to the negligence of Fiat India factory quality check and testing department. We have completely lost faith in the product. The product we received is not value for what we paid. We are not interested in the product anymore. We also sent a mail to Tata motors and they are telling us to talk to their representative with whom we have already discussed this issue. This issue is creating a lot of mental and financial pressure on us. We are worried using a defective car has caused danger to my life.
Also I found out that the rear wiper, dashboard panel, door pockets and most importantly the tyres were of inferior quality.
Please help with what can be done to find a solution to this since we are not interested in this vehicle anymore and want our money back.
On a personal note, this car was purchased for my sister who is getting engaged on 22/04 and because of this we are not able to use this car for the function.
Please help with what can be done.
