A warning to those who love thier cars - do not go to this incompetent service center

This is my experience with Fortune Cars Thane. Its the place i brought my car in

2008.

Have drafted a letter & send it to Fiat India

Please spread the word and be aware of incidents like these.

I had taken my Fiat Palio to fortune thane for accident case claim thru Bajaj Allianz as doors (driver side and back) were damaged, it took 2 weeks for fortune to get back to me and no one during this period called or explained cost toward damages.

Car was submitted to fortune cars thane on 18th June.

Today on the 02nd July I called to find out about my car and was told to pick it up as the car was ready.

On reaching Fortune cars I was told my car was ready and it would be washed and ready to go.

On closer inspection I noticed that the doors, driver and rear passengerside was creaking badly, (not the same sound as when the door opens and slots in place) which was not the case when given to the dealer for repairs.

I found out that the black washers on the car doors were missing and the hinges were loose. Fortune cars have claimed for hinges from insurance from Bajaj Allianz. yet I was told to pay for this separately???

On Further Inspection I found the paint on the inside of both doors (driver side and rear Passenger window surrounding area) was scratched badly due to bad work. Also the driver side window sunscreen film had been damaged and the glass window was non-functional and getting jammed badly.

Please note that all this was functional TOTALLY when it was given to the dealer.

I was told that the window mechanism can get spoilt anytime and now is to be replaced and it would cost me 5 to 6k and the door washers were 800 per washer for the doors

My Question

1) Why wasn’t anyone (myself and Bajaj Allianz surveyor) informed, by fortune cars for two weeks and

2) Mentioned in costs to Bajaj Allianz as it is doing the job of insuring my car

3) Why am I on inspecting the car being given reasons that the damage was there when I know for a fact the state of the car (I have witnesses to this)

4) Why wasn’t this taken care of in the first place??

My Answer – Because it was a shady job and the car was damaged at the work shop due to carelessness.

5) After two weeks how can I be told that everything is ok and the car is ready

6) If the parts were to be ordered from FIAT then where is it – it’s been two weeks isn’t it??? Since the car was at the workshop.7) is there no Quality control from Fortune & what about customer satisfaction?? Am I to go around telling the so called experts what is wrong with repairs and finishing???

Earlier my dash board was scratched when given for service. I had mentioned this, but it was let go.

Even my earlier complain from a year back (which I have written to Fiat is not taken care of by Fortune cars even on the second visit) my gear gets stuck suddenly while driving and it becomes hard to shift to any gear. The force that has to be used to change gears is so much that it is scary. On the highway god forbid that no accident happens due to this.

No one can trace the problem yet??? Clutch being Hard is another story…

I am very disappointed with fortune as they have no quality control, no responsibility and no ethics. They have damaged my Fiat Palio and its very disappointing that nothing is done about it even with earlier complains to Fiat.

Was at fortune cars at 4pm in the evening and left the place at 7pm. I travel from Godbunder road to fortune cars just to be disappointed as usual.

All the while I was being explained how the parts could have been damaged. If so did i have to wait for two weeks to be told that the washers are not available from fiat and parts take long (15 days) for a washer? where did it go in the first place? Why does my car come out dirtier and more damaged every time it goes for a service or for repairs? Is there no QC or check or notes taken when the car comes in to the garage.. I am very angry and disappointed with fortune.

Taking to the People concerned at Fortune has left me mentally drained and tired.

My Letter to those concerened at Fiat -Tata

In the end - nothing worked out in my cars favour

I had to pay from my insurance for the damage done at the service center Fortune Cars thane,

The parts were late in delivery and the whole process took a month. there were no updates and communication was to a minimum.

The car delivered to me (inspite of many imp people looking into this matter) was shocking

Dear Victor, the rest looking after Fiat in India and fellow Fiat forum members.

Please find attached Compiled Video file- with first 25 seconds showing the state of the car interiors (hand marks grease stains- were all over the seats/ roof), when i took delivery of the car from fortune cars thane on the 20th of july

In the video Post 26 sec it shows my car after a personal car wash and with the rear LR passenger door creaking - and various door parts loose.

(as of now i have to bang the door to shut it completely)

Such is the poor quality of workmanship & QC for a Fiat car @ fortune cars Thane.

The car was at the work shop for a month, On the 19th of july i was told that the car was ready and that i could collect it.

As i was working i came in the next day 20th july

I had to wait for 2 hours at the workshop on the 20th of july, because i was supervising the uncomplete work at the SC (service center) from the car being very dirty to scratch marks on the dash board to rubber seals on the door being out of place...

Not trusting the SC I took a drive to check the car and noticed the engine and glow plug warning sign lit up, ultimatly had to repalce that as well.

Its amazing how many parts go bad specially at the SC and how the so called expert dont notice a thing till i checked every detail and brought it up.

So to summarise a shoddy job done/parts that suddenly went bad (ONLY) at the SC.

1) Glass Winder -

2) Sun Film

3) Glow plug

4) Dashboard scratched

5) Grease hand marks on seats and ceiling

6) Loose parts - waist line moulding

7) Hinge- washers

8) Door- side rubber plugs - for water not to enter the car (these were not avaiable according to the SC and would get them soon)

Also the earlier complains (year old problem) of the gears getting stuck & hard clutch were not attended to, inspite of the car being there for a month.

In the end i had to pay for all the damages through my insurance, am not at all happy with the resolution service provided.

I must say that i have lost all hope and my chances of buying another Fiat car in the future, (due to service issues and poor customer care) stays very grim.
