I purchased Hercules MTB Thriller bicycle on 22-1 (bill date is 24-1) 8:30 PM from "Sharda Cycle Store", High Court Road, Bhavnagar. (When buying, I had told the shopkeeper to show a cycle which is of ranger type but not much expensive but still sturdy and as simple as possible.) When bringing the cycle to my home, the peon of the institute where I am working at, drove the cycle because I was on bike. After dropping him back to the institute on bike, coming back to home and taking dinner, I make a drive on the cycle at about 11 PM and I found some noise coming out when I was paddling.
I go to the shop on the 3rd day (2nd day was Sunday, and the shop was closed) and complained about it. The man at there (may be the son or senior employee of the shop owner) named Montu said that I may be driving it fast or paddling heavily and therefore the noise is coming. I said that I was not driving fast nor I was driving heavily, and suppose I drive fast, the noise still must not come as I had asked for a sturdy cycle when dealing/buying the cycle (I have not purchased a cycle like LadyBird). Then he said that it is a common problem for new cycles, the noise will automatically stop after 1 month when I bring the cycle back for servicing. So, I came back to home and drove it for 2 more days.
But the noise was very irritating, so I reached to the shop at afternoon and again he replied with the same answer. I asked him, can you show me at least 1 new cycle from the 10 new cycles parked in your shop which is making this type of noise, but he continued to telling the same thing. But after many request he said to give the cycle to the shop and he will look for the defect.
I left the cycle there and came back to the shop at night, 8 PM. He said that I found a defect in chain and replaced with a new one, now the cycle will not make any noise. I made a test drive on the road but still the noise was coming. I told him that the noise is still coming, but he said to come after 1 month for servicing and the noise will stop after that.
I had no choice, I came back to home with noisy cycle. I have doubt that the noise will stop or not after 1 month. On the bill of the cycle, it is written that the cycle owner can bring the cycle for servicing/checking within 1 month, no service will be provided after 1 month (except the company guarantee of 1 year for frame, handle, and one more part). As he had said to come AFTER 1 month and if the defect/noise remains there, will he service the cycle? Is he lying? (I am sure he is) What should I do?
