Dear Sir.
Sub: Internet booked tickets are non refundable.
I would like to invite your kind attention that on 30th Sept I had a confirmed reservation from Jalna to Thane by 1402 Nandigram express vide PNR no. 8403008566, transaction ID: 0251327450. But because of Political tension prevailed on that day (Ayodhya issue), no bus service was available to reach Jalna Railway station. From my working place to Jalna Railway station is 80 KM and without any public transportation system, one can not reach.
At 16.00 hours when I realized that I was unable to reach Jalna, I decided to cancel my Ticket. But in internet, it was showing “Chart prepared, cancellation not possible”.
Hence I had to loss Rs. 359.00 for no fault of me. May I therefore request the railway authority to make system to refund the ticket booked by Internet?
The railways should encourage internet booking as it reduces crowd at Reservation counters.
Railways can reduce staffs.
Railways, Banks are getting extra revenue if booked in internet.
People prefer as it can be done sitting at home.
There should not be any disparity between a window booking and internet booking. The laws should be common for all. However one present Law is acceptable that W/L tickets will automatically be cancelled in case of Internet booking.
Hence my request to you to refund my money of above PNR no. towards uniform judgment and Human right.
It is also the fact that TTE on duty will allot that vacant berth. Then how Railway can earn double fares from the same berth?
Is it not injustice to a man who booked ticket in advance and because of No fault of him, he is loosing money because of silly laws?
Hope, you will be kind enough to modify the laws and refund by money.
