I am still awaiting your reply as the vehicle is at Auto Industries Goa and I am not able to drive the Vehicle as Entire Gear Transmission has failed (1, 2, R).

Subject: UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER OF INDICA VISTA FROM DAY 1

Dear Mr. Nitin Kataria

I have purchased Indica Vista TDI from your Auto Industries Goa, Margoa. I being a strong believer in Made in India brand and a man impressed by the TATA brand ethics image, which made me to purchase - A TATA INDICA VISTA TDi. Reg. No: GA06D3353, Engine No: 4751DT14GQZP76688

The main objective of purchasing the vehicle was only because my father has a Kidney failure and undergoes Dialysis thrice weekly and need to travel 30 Km from Vasco to Appolo Hospital, Margao, Goa.

However, since the first day, I purchased the vehicle, in addition to other minor issues, I have been facing a major problem in the Gear transmission of the vehicle. The First, Second and Reverse gears are not functioning properly and the reverse gear is so hard that I have to use both my hands to maneuver.

For so many months I have been continuously visiting the dealers Auto Industries Goa, Margao. The gear transmission was been serviced many times and necessary fitments were been replaced but still the problem persists. I have kept the vehicle in the service centre for almost 2 months and lost almost Rs.24, 000/- on Taxi and lost more then 15 days leave without pay only to travel 30km to bring my vehicle from Vasco to Margao and take back to Vasco.

Two months back the vehicle was taken for a test drive by you and I was assured for approved for replacement of Gear Transmission within two days, but unfortunately till date I have not got any confirmation. The total fault for such harassment is from Tata Motors and not Auto Industries Goa, as their personnel’s have been cooperating with me from day 1. Four days back you told me that Tata Motors would like to inspect the vehicle again and take necessary photos of the defective Gear unit, is this not frustrating!!! you would have done this process long before, as you have taken almost more then 6 months to come to this conclusion.

I have been frustrated and facing harassment from Tata Motors for the last six months but non of your Tata Motors personnel are seriously interested in solving my problems.

I would also like to know as to who will compensate me Rs.24, 000/- which I have spent on Taxi when the vehicle was in Service centre, 15 days leave.

Tata Group is one of the most trusted brand in India & world and was promised with best after sales service. Previously I had owned Maruti Suzuki and Ford vehicle but did not face such bad service and harassment provided by Tata Motors. I am sorry to say that I have made a big mistake in purchasing India Vista and swear that I will not purchase any Tata vehicle in future and advise my friends not to purchase one. Tata Motors should learn from its competitors like Honda, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Ford etc. as at many instances they have recalled defective vehicles back to the factory for rectification and replacement. I will not be surprised if the sales of Tata Motors is declined in future.

I am now frustrated. However, before I aggravate the matter for such defective piece, I prefer to give one last opportunity to you and Auto Industries, Goa for necessary repair or replacement for complete correction of the problem. As per requested by you and Mr Diego I have delivered the vehicle to Auto Industries, Margao for diagnosis. In case I do not get any satisfactory reply for replacement of the Transmission by Monday 3rd Jan evening then I will be forced to escalate the issue further or may be even go to Consumer Court and will file for exchange to New car, Travel Expenses, Harassment, Court charges and will deposit the Vehicle at AIG, Margao OR may be use my influences in the print media to publish my grievances.

It feels that You and Tata Motors are NOT AT ALL interested in solving my problems, you are simply trying to harass me and take me for a ride.
