Couldn't edit booked ticket in IRCTC

Hello Sir/Madam,

I booked a tatkal ticket using IRCTC site today (14th March). When I booked, I wrongly selected the sex as 'Male' instead of 'Female'. Since that is a tatkal ticket, I don't get money back if I cancel. So, I went to Madurai railway station and contacted Chief supervisor to modify the ticket. He casually said that they can't do anything with ticket booked in IRCTC, there should be an edit option to modify the ticket. I told him that there is no edit option there (the reason he was saying is that will be misused by agents, but that cant be done with the new restriction - ticket agents can't login between 8 am to 9 am) and that is a tatkal ticket. He told that he can't help.

So, I contacted IRCTC customer care (044-25300000). The guy told that I can't edit the ticket, have to cancel the ticket and book again. I told that is a tatkal ticket, but still he was telling that you made a mistake and money can't be refunded. How could a govt service would rob our money? I'm paying my tax correctly. If they do this, why should I pay my taxes?

I need my money back! or the ticket!

I cant book another ticket since its all in waiting list now! I can't travel and I dont get my money back? Is this justice?
