Delay in getting the ordered motor bike

To Whom It May Concern:

After having thoroughly researched the availability of motor bikes, I was initially quite impressed by the Honda CB Unicorn. I paid an initial down payment of Rs. 1, 000/- (Receipt number 42760) to book the Honda CB Unicorn during the second week of April at the Lodha Motors, Honda Showroom, located at 784 GST Road, Kadaperi Sanatorium. The dealers at this Honda Showroom promised that they would call me in thirty (30) days in order to retrieve the motor bike and to pay the balance of the amount. The reason provided for the delay was that they were currently out of stock.

After not having received a response within the thirty-day window, I called Lodha Motors to inquire into the reason for the delay. I was informed that I would have to wait as they still did not have the bike in stock.

After forty-five (45) days, I called Lodha Motors again to follow up on the status of the motor bike. The person who answered the phone was rude and unhelpful. I was told that the CB Unicorn was still not in stock, but that they did have another bike that they could offer me which was a new arrival, the CB Dazzler. However, after reviewing the CB Dazzler, I realized they were trying to offer me a motor bike which was newly introduced, however I was not impressed by CB Unicorn Dazzler. I liked CB Unicorn than the CB Unicorn Dazzler. I informed Lodha Motors that I was not interested in the CB Dazzler and wanted to wait for the CB Unicorn. After asking me to wait, they then proceeded to hang up on me. They did not even have the courtesy to ask my name, registration date, or any other information that might have been required in order to properly follow up with me.

The next time that I called, I simply asked about the availability of the Unicorn and the person who answered the phone simply answered “we do not have stock/load will call you when we get it” and then hung up the phone before I was able to provide any information on how to contact me. I was quite upset with Honda’s quality of customer service given my previous interactions with Lodha Motors. I then called Lodha Motors again and requested that I be able to speak to the supervisor. I was provided with the number of the sales manager, Mr. Saravanan. Despite repeated attempts to contact Mr. Saravanan, I was unable to reach him for some time. When I finally was able to speak to him and inquired about the status of my motor bike, he requested my name and booking date, but then informed me that he would have to get back to me. However, he has never responded to my inquiry. In fact, due to his lack of response, I have called him numerous times, but he has either not answered his phone or his phone has been switched off. I even tried calling Lodha Motors again and asked to be connected to the sales manager, but was informed that he was now on leave.

It has now been over three (3) months since I originally booked the Honda CB Unicorn. I would have assumed that given the high quality of Honda’s motor bikes, that your customer service would also be of the same caliber. This is my first experience purchasing from Honda and I am terribly disappointed by the low standard of customer service provided to its customers. I am still awaiting a proper response regarding when I should expect to receive the Honda CB Unicorn that I ordered and hope to retrieve the motor bike soon.
