The mahindra logan has ensured i will never procure a mahindra product again. It has been the worst experience by far i have had for any product i have purchased let alone a car.
Problems with the car begin instantaneously.
1st month:-
The wipers and head lights stop working.
Cause: wire short circuit.
Cost to fix: 12000 (yes 12 thousand indian rupees) time to fix 2 weeks.
4th Month
Car Deck/sound system falls off and Cabin headlamp falls off.
Cause: Pathetic Build Quality
Cost to Fix: 3000 (note: this was the cost to attempt to fix as they both fell off every few weeks so much so i have permanently removed the headlamp)
8th Month
Driving at a speed of 80 and the accelerator gets stuck. Stopped the car with merely a prayer
Cause: Unknown
Cost to Fix: 1000
16th Month/18th Month/24th month:
Car Pulls to the left (almost takes a u turn by itself)/ Wipers stop working /Cabin Headlamp falls off
Cause: wheel alignment/Wiper motor, wires you name it
Cost to Fix: 4600 to attempt to fix it, it still drives itself to the left, wipers still don work And with multitude attempts to get it fixed by the service center have failed to fix the problem but generated new problems like incorrect rewiring, loosened dashboard
Current Situation:
1. Wipers DO NOT WORK (during mumbai monsoon) because the service center do no have a wiper motor to replace the existing one.
2. Headlights come on when you brake because of the last attempt at rewiring done by the service center
3. To replace the headlamp in the cabin they need to replace the ENTIRE head lining (yah right, this because in their last attempt to fix it the service center stuck the headlamp with fevikwick - brilliant)
4. Car pulls dramatically to the left on its own accord
5. Car deck/sound system can be kept in place with pieces of paper and patience.
6. The car now has its own language with rattles, shakes and squeaks
To think that i when i bought the car the only downside i saw was that the boot would not open from the inside.
If anyone gives you a Logan for FREE please do not accept it, you would probably get a new car with the service expenses and medical expenses (because of stress) that you would incur
