Maruti Alto LXI BS111 (with immobiliser)
Problem with the silencer

This regarding my maruti Alto LXI, purchased in the year November. The chasis number is 1062508

The car has completed 6800Kms. I find it very strange and surprising that the silencer of my car has started creating problems. It is makes noise. When shown in the service centre, they asked me to change the whole silencer. I fail to understand the cause of damage to the silencer. The petrol used is of good quality, i know so how can the silencer in just 3 years has so much rust that it needs to be changed? The answer i got from the service centre is not satisfactory, as they say its because of the fuel, and that it is a common feature. Having enquired from many other customers, i came to know that it was not a common problem. Please tell me a valid reason and having known the fact that the car is well protected and does not travel in rugged road, i think the amount of getting the silencer repaired should be paid by the company.
