MARUTI /CAR
DELAY IN DELIVERY

Dear Sir,

I have booked a Maruti Swift DZiRE VXI Petrol on 13 March vide SL # 5180. I was promised by the dealer that the delivery of the car would be one month time but it has been more than 2 months. I decided to pay them a visit. The agent was not sure of delivery and told me it might take another 2 more months. At the time of booking the car cost was 5.10 Lacs and effective from April Maruti increased the Price to 5.18 Lacs. Apart from above increase Tamil Nadu Government has also announced another 10, 000 increase in Life Tax. If the car is not delivered with in May I will incur loss of another Rs 20, 000 extra. Who will bear all these expenses?

My existing Maruti Esteem was also disposed assuming my new DZire would be delivered within a month. Now I have to travel by bike a long distance with severe low back pain (I have already spent Rs 20, 000 for MRI Scan and physiotherapy).

Now the dealer is forcing me to go for New Wagon R or SX4 or DZire ZXI which is one Lac more than VXI model.

I am also surprised to learn from the dealer that Maruti production schedules are not as per target. I am not sure how Maruti Udyog, which is the market leader in automobile and has proved so at every step by introducing new models and variants, is unable to deliver vehicle in time that are booked by loyal customers.

It is clear understanding that Maruti is trying to enforce other vehicles of its make on customers who have booked DZIRE. It is a pathetic situation after paying your hard earned money we need to run like a dogs behind these people.

I feel Hyundai Accent, I 20 or logan would be a good alternate when compared to Dzire VXI. I don’t think even a single Dzire petrol version is there in the market and all the comment made by Maruti are just to cheat customers.

At end of all this experiences I feel very disturbed with the way I was treated by the Maruti dealers. The attitude they have is like they have a monopoly and can take the customers for a ride. My not buying a Maruti car will not make any difference to a big company like Maruti.

I just wanted to check with Maruti if this the way they want their dealers to treat customers who owns Maruti cars for several years?

I also want to know if there is an on-line system besides the toll free nos (which are of no help really) to check allotments/delivery status. How do I get a clear picture on the status of my vehicle?

Waiting in Anticipation for resolution.

Charles
