Pandit Automotive, Tilak Road, Pune
Sold Old tyres

I Purchased my vehicle Fiat Palio 1.2 Nv ELX on 2nd October (Reg No: MH12 DM-6323) from Pandit Automotive, Tilak Road, Pune. The original tyre fitment (as told to me by the dealer) was 165/80 R13 tube tyres. I had requested the dealer then to give me an exchange of tubeless tyres, which the dealer agreed then and fitted a 175/70 R13 tubeless tyre. Recently my car tyres started making a humming sound. The Tata-Fiat service dealer in Mumbai suggested me to change my tyres stating that they are June tyres and are too old. As I was not sure on how can the tyres be so old than the vehicle purchase date, I called up Pandit today (6th September) to enquire on the same. I spoke with Mr. Mukund who informed me that the tyre warranty is 1 year from the date of sale and hence he cant entertain my concern. While I understand that the tyre & battery has a limited warranty period, my concern is over the sale of old tyres. As per Goodyear (the tyre manufacturers) one should change tyres post 5 years. My car has not even run 17000 kms and not yet completed 4 years wherein I have to change the tyres because someone from Pandit cheated on me at that time.

Hope the consumer forum would inform Pandit to ensure that they do not sell such old parts which have a limited life and warranty and also advise me on further course of action.

Regards,

Amit Pradhan
